How To Peak Shoulder Performance With 5 Important Exercises

A building without a foundation is doomed to collapse. If you want your upper body to look aesthetic and your muscles to be supported, shoulder training is one of the most important factors.

And here are 5 most effective exercises for shoulders, nice and easy:

1. Overhead Press (Barbell or Dumbbell):

    • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
    • Hold a barbell or dumbbells at shoulder height.
    • Press the weight overhead until your arms are fully extended.
    • Lower the weight back to shoulder height.

 

2. Lateral Raises:

    • Stand with a dumbbell in each hand by your sides.
    • Keeping your arms straight, lift the weights out to the sides until they reach shoulder height.
    • Lower the weights back down with control.

 

3. Front Raises:

    • Hold a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs.
    • Keeping your arms straight, lift the weights directly in front of you until they reach shoulder height.
    • Lower the weights back down in a controlled manner.

 

4. Face Pulls:

 

    • Attach a rope to a cable machine at about head height.
    • Grab the rope with both hands and step back, facing the machine.
    • Pull the rope towards your face, keeping your upper arms parallel to the ground.
    • Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of the movement.

 

 

5. Reverse Flyes:

    • Lie face down on an incline bench with a dumbbell in each hand, hanging directly beneath your shoulders.
    • Keeping a slight bend in your elbows, lift the weights out to the sides until your arms are parallel to the ground.
    • Lower the weights back down in a controlled manner.

Remember to warm up before starting your shoulder workout, and start with a weight that allows you to perform the exercises with proper form.
